THE

Woods (Quaid), a burnt-out American businessman, rents a charming country
cottage in Ireland, claiming to be in search of rest and relaxation. Instead,
he finds himself sharing his idyllic retreat with a lively band of leprechauns
-- only visible to him Meanwhile, Muldoon's son, Mickey (Daniel Betts, "The Canterville Ghost" ) and his best friend, Barney (Culkin), stir up trouble when they crash a masquerade ball held by the fairies, the leprechauns' arch enemies. When Mickey falls in love with Princess Jessica (Caroline Carver, "Tom's Midnight Garden" ), the lovely fairy daughter of King Boric (Daltrey), their forbidden love affair ignites a longstanding feud between the leprechauns and the fairy kingdoms, escalating into a full-scale war. With the Grand Banshee (Goldberg) warning of disastrous consequences if the conflict is not resolved, Woods is recruited to help set things straight -- setting off a chain of magical and spectacular events. |
