THE MAGICAL LEGEND OF THE LEPRECHAUNS (Sunday, November 7, 9-11 p.m. ET, and Monday, 8-10 p.m. ET [1999]) -- Oscar nominee Randy Quaid ("The Last Detail," "Independence Day" ), Academy Award winner Whoopi Goldberg ("Ghost," "Alice in Daniel Betts & Caroline CarverWonderland" ) and Golden Globe nominee Roger Daltrey ("Tommy" ) head the star-studded cast of this wild and wondrous four-hour adventure set in the enchanted Emerald Isle. Kieran Culkin ("The Mighty," "She's All That" ) and Colm Meaney ("Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," "Con Air" ) also star.

Jack Woods (Quaid), a burnt-out American businessman, rents a charming country cottage in Ireland, claiming to be in search of rest and relaxation. Instead, he finds himself sharing his idyllic retreat with a lively band of leprechauns -- only visible to himColm Meaney -- and led by a mischief-maker named Seamus Muldoon (Meaney). While trying to adjust to his magical new friends, Woods also befriends a fiery Irish beauty named Kathleen (Orla Brady, "Wuthering Heights" ). Their friendship quickly blossoms into romance, but their relationship is threatened once Kathleen learns the real reason Woods has come to Ireland.

Meanwhile, Muldoon's son, Mickey (Daniel Betts, "The Canterville Ghost" ) and his best friend, Barney (Culkin), stir up trouble when they crash a masquerade ball held by the fairies, the leprechauns' arch enemies. When Mickey falls in love with Princess Jessica (Caroline Carver, "Tom's Midnight Garden" ), the lovely fairy daughter of King Boric (Daltrey), their forbidden love affair ignites a longstanding feud between the leprechauns and the fairy kingdoms, escalating into a full-scale war. With the Grand Banshee (Goldberg) warning of disastrous consequences if the conflict is not resolved, Woods is recruited to help set things straight -- setting off a chain of magical and spectacular events.
