In
the world of Leprechauns, Mickey(Daniel Betts) meets Jericho (Kevin McKidd),
Sean (Tony Curran)
and Barney (Kieran Culkin)and off they go for a night of fun, . They make
plans to drink a wee bit and perhaps fight some with their archenemies,
the Trooping Fairies. Before the merry threesome set off, their plans are
interrupted by Dunlang the Dullahan (Gary Lydon), a headless horseman,
who reminds them that fighting has been absolutely forbidden by the Grand
Banshee.
The
lads dismiss the ban and wave Dunlang on his way, only to find themselves
threatened by a gang of Trooping Fairies. The gang leader is none other
than Count Grogan (Jonathan Firth), nephew of the Queen of the Fairies.
When Grogan mockingly says that the only frightening thing about Sean is
his eyebrows, they exchange punches.
The
fight is disrupted when a human passes by in a cart. The leprechauns hitch
a ride, tossing the unsuspecting farmer's turnips at the retreating fairies.
Woods
is standing near the path and is startled by both a projectile turnip and
the smiling faces of Mickey, Jericho and Barney. They introduce themselves
to him from the disappearing wagon. Muldoon is also on the chaotic scene;
he declares that Trooping Fairies are the natural enemy of the leprechaun
-- "if they were any further up themselves, they'd be inside out."
